Legends & Bandos Returning to AMP!

Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2017 Racing Radios Legends Championship and Young Lions World Finals will return to Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 21. The venue, a fast, technical 1.14-mile, 10-turn course (see course map here), will add variety to the series and offers drivers a rare opportunity to sharpen their road-course racing skills on an unfamiliar layout.

Home to a several different of racing series, karting experiences and driving schools, Atlanta Motorsports Park will open its doors to officially sanctioned U.S. Legends and Bandolero cars racing for the third consecutive year after hosting the AMS program at its facility each of the previous two years.

On-track action will kick off with practice sessions beginning at 9 a.m. before heat races starting at 10:35 a.m. Feature races will follow with the Rookie Bandoleros class, a combined Bandits/Outlaws class, the combined Young Lions/Semi-Pro class, the combined Pro/Masters class and finally the Thunder Roadster class.

Pre-registration is available through Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. with a cost of $100 for driver armbands and no charge for pit/crew passes or spectator armbands. Competitors can sign up at the AMS Legends office or by contacting AMS Legends director Ken Ragan. Registration after Oct. 18 will increase to $125 and drivers will start in the rear of the field.

Atlanta Motor Speedway has hosted U.S. Legends and Bandolero racing for 20 consecutive years since its inaugural season on the quarter-mile Thunder Ring in 1998. Among its notable alumni, current NASCAR drivers include 2015 Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano, 2014 XFINITY Series champion and current driver of the No. 24 car in the Monster Energy Cup Series Chase Elliott, David Ragan, Reed Sorensen, Austin Dillon and William Byron, among others.

For more information or for drivers interested in competing in the road course series, contact AMS Legends director Ken Ragan at 704-575-8542 or race director Floyd Lee at 770-946-3953.
